From Mary Ardath Batts:In the Macon Telegraph and News - Georgia on July 7, 1955 - In Loving Memory of Charles W. Coleman ABBEVILLE, July __ Charles Wesley Coleman, 59, died yesterday in Douglas while visiting a daughter. Funeral arrangements are incomplete, pending the arrival of a son from Korea.
The services will be at Pine City Baptist Church, the Rev. Oscar Walker and the Rev. Irving Merritt officiating. Dorsey Funeral Home will make arrangements and burial will be in Morningside Cemetery in Rochelle.
Mr. Coleman, a farmer and school bus driver, was born in Wilcox County and had been a member of the Pine City Baptist Church 25 years.
Survivors include his wife; four daughters, Mrs. A. J. Barfield, Macon, Mrs. J. W. Whittle, Rochelle, Mrs. J. E. Lane, Macon, and Miss Jeanette Coleman, Douglas; three sons, C. R. Coleman, Douglas, L. C. Coleman, Atlanta, and Cpl. W. C. Coleman, Korea; 12 grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Coleman, Fitzgerald, and John Coleman, Rochelle; and two sisters, Miss Ellie Ashley, Hahira, and Mrs. Frances Crew, Fitzgerald.
